Already had the piggy lip just haven't gotten any pics of it yet. Lowered the beast as low as I could get on the stock struts without destroying the ride too much. PICS!! Top: Before, Bottom: AFTARR!!!, Sideways: My victory beer!!

Ghey

Went and got the two fowdy registered today. Got raped by the registry on sales tax. Just so everyone knows my 20 year old car that had a rotted out lower rad support is worth $2000! You heard me right, $2k will buy you a 20 year old rot box. So in conclusion money spent on car including buying it: $150, money spent to register it: $247.98 = WHAT THE FUCK!! Add the $348 I spent to pay off my insurance today and that puts the total to ~$600! Looks like those heim jointed tension rods are gonna hafta wait. Still changin out my valve cover gasket tho, there's a river of oil dripping down the front of my engine :(

Made it, epicness ensues

Made it back from Sturbridge, with a piggy lip and sohc gauge cluster. Sold the grandpa mobile finally so no I have some extra income for the 240. Tension rods and sway bar links will be purchased. Selling one of my fifty hatches to Toan's friend tomorrow. Monday gotta pay off my insurance and finally register this thing so it's legal. Fun stuff

road trip!

Off to Sturbridge Mass to meet up with Kevin(DriftRPS13) from the forums. Lets hope the shitbox makes it there and this gauge cluster works...

Carb time

got my carbs in the mail from UPS today, these where gonna go onto a sohc that I should of had torn apart and waiting. However that engine turned into my DD so now I'm looking for a SOHC lower intake mani so I can weld it up off the car and transfer everything over when it comes time.

UPDATE!!

Turns out I just don't know how to properly read a fuse diagram. Popped in a 15a fuse and I have tail lights!! Now last on the list is death wobble time then I will have the ultimate daily machine!!

Done and done...well sort of

Fixed my windsheild wipers, seat belts and got my heat working today. 3 big tings down on the list of roadworthiness. Next I have to figure out why my taillights still dont work and eventually I probably should check to see why my car does a death shake going about 35-40 lol. But heres some pics of it all together since I dont think I've taken any yet.

Rain blows

Especially when you don't have windsheild wipers. The shitbox didn't come with wipers so I figured, easy fix just steal em off the parts car and done. Well it turns out the wipers actually have to WORK in order for this plan to come to fruition. Sooo, no wipey-wipey=me driving home swerving worse than a drunk person and going about 10 mph. That was the worst 10 mile drive home EVAR! First on the list of things to do tomorrow: Fix wipers, then find out why I have no tail-lights after swapping out 3 different sets, also should find out why my seat belts don't work. Alot of stuff to do tomorrow and not alot of time. Time to do work and get this bish street worthy

Back to square one...

I need tension rod brackets. Good grief....just a couple months ago I scooped up a set for project beater but in my infinite kindness lent them to Toan so he could get his power-brace action goin. But after fighting with my lower rad support all day and then resorting to a sawzall and cutting it to shit I've realized I definately am gonna need at least one tension rod bracket. Mine as well scoop up some adjustable rods while I'm at it too. More soopage today, while underneath working on the new awesome-mobile I notice it's outfitted with goodridge SS-braided lines. Schweeet. Time to put out the beacon on ONE and see if I can't track down some tension rod brackets.

The newest addition

Picked this up off a local forum guy for $170 last night. '90 black sohc 5 speed...runs like a dream. Practically rust free. Only downside is the interior is ripped apart, but I have more than enough experience tearing apart and putting back together interior pieces so today starts my new project of getting this thing road worthy within a day and driving it to CT tomorrow to pick up more 240 parts.

My addiction...

Or maybe its just a curse, but tomorrow I'm going to connecticut to pick up yet another parts car. I might even fix this one up and use it as a beater, all it really needs by the sound of it is a driver seat and probably some other bs stuff. Who knows, maybe its time to retire my 15mpg grandpa-mobile for a 240 daily. Or maybe it's time to break out the cutting disks and go to town. I'll see when its back in rehoboth and I have a moment to think. I can't wait to get my fix although my yard is starting to look like a 240 graveyard...dunno if that's a good thing or bad. Either way I know I'm gonna get the "Another one!?!" comment from the gf but I guess an addiction to 240's is better than an addiction to crack, right?

Done and done!

We didnt get the rain we were supposed to get today so sun + boredom = done! I got the hatch and doors off, so now all i have to do is get the clutch and brake pedals and master cylinders off and i can send my poor little rust bucket to scrap heaven.

Part 2...DONE!

Part 2 of my mini-project of stripping the rust bucket is done... after 2 ratchets and a bunch of cussing the subframe is out! Next on the agenda is doors/hatch/pedals and i should be ready to clean out the garage and prep for the actual start of my project. Getting a big check in about 4 days...can't wait...i dream of carbs and single-cammers!

Ahhh crap..

That's exactly what I said when this happened. I was on the last nut to take off my rear subframe on the 240 and the stud sheared off my ratchet. I loved that ratchet, for being part of a $30 155 piece tool set it definately conquered any rusted ass bolt on my car. Even using a 3 foot cheater bar on it the ratchet just served any bolt within its reach. But today it met its match...and sadly it must be put to rest. Time to go buy some new tools!!

part 1 done..

Got the front end off of the rust bucket finally... Tomorrow comes the subframe then doors/hatch/pedals and whatnot then a visit to the scrapyard!
